Join High Concrete in Springboro, Ohio where your future is built to last. We are actively searching for a Production Supervisor to lead our 2nd Shift team, with a start time between 10AM-11AM. The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, direction, training, orientation and general supervision of his/her co-workers for all job functions in the Batching and Finishing and evening support of Material Handling and Final Finishing Departments. Accountable to meet production and delivery schedules within budgeted allocations, to meet the above responsibilities while insuring conformance to High Concrete Group LLC. safety and quality standards. Participate and facilitate in cost reduction efforts within area of responsibility to assist in meeting HCG strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED; Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • OSHA Safety Course (minimum)
  • Minimum of five (5) years or more in a multi-faceted, fast-paced precast concrete environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years progressive supervisory experience in a lean oriented work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in material handling techniques, operation of 20 ton or larger towmotors and/or 30 ton or larger straddle cranes and a thorough knowledge of maintenance needs for heavy rolling stock equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction to the Production Batching & finishing team as well as the evening support of the Material Handling and Final Finishing functions in accordance with the approved financial and operational goals.
  • Interviews potential co-workers, develops lead people in the areas of on-the-job training, safety rules and regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Instills in his/her team members an attitude of safety awareness as it pertains to department, company, and corporate safety rules, regulations and procedures. Actively demonstrates he /she can work in a safe manner on a continual basis, by following established procedures in the areas of safety/health.
  • Takes immediate corrective action within the scope of assigned authority whenever productivity, quality and/or safety issues arise.
  • Informs, coaches, counsels assigned co-workers with regard to safety, quality productivity and overall job performance.
  • Analyzes various accounting reports on productivity, expenses and losses in his/her area of responsibility, and takes appropriate corrective action within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Performs all assigned duties as outlined in the New Employee/Supervisor Orientation Form.
  • Ensures all co-workers have proper tools and equipment to perform their job assignments in conjunction with the Lead person.
  • Leads departments through technology driven system changes.
  • Maintains and submits all reports and records that are required and/or assigned for the proper execution of his/her position.
  • Maintain current and develop future Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) for all job functions within the scope of responsibility in conjunction with Lead Persons.
  • Establishes a collaborative working relationship with members of the various functional groups to enhance communications and support the overall business operating plan.
  • Reviews cost center reports at least monthly to determine significant variances from budget.
  • Utilizes data and established MDI metrics to assess productivity, expenses, and losses in their area of responsibility, and takes appropriate corrective action within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Enforce proper care of all equipment, facilities and other physical assets under his/her control in conjunction with the Lead person.
  • Accepts and commits to High Concrete Group LLC ‘s concept of “Team” managing and works to enhance his/her performance as a team member and encourages all others to be a “team” player.
  • Spot-checks product and yard on a daily basis in conjunction with Leadperson.
  • Conducts regular performance reviews and skills matrix evaluations with Leadperson and annual performance reviews with all other co-workers assigned.
  • Develops and maintains a well coordinated, efficient organizational structure.
  • Be committed to the Improvement Process and act as a role model.
  • Assists Master Scheduler in scheduling of products processed through his/her area of responsibility as required.
  • Maintains an understanding/working knowledge of all High Concrete Group LLC’s safety and environmental plans/procedures.
  • Maintains current and assists with the development of future Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) for all job functions within the scope of responsibility in conjunction with Leadpersons.
