About The Position

Responsible for all mixing, baking, forming and packaging activities as required to safely produce quality products with the most efficient use of labor and materials on the appropriate/scheduled shifts and lines. This role involves supervising a team of employees, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, and managing production processes from raw materials to finished goods.

Requirements

  • Solid working knowledge of SQF and GMP policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of SAP processes.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/MiOSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of HFS HPS/LEAN tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions/problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Stand eight hours per shift.
  • Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • Two-year college degree in business is preferred.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bakery and/or Food/Beverage manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficient in Kronos timekeeping system and SAP (both pluses).
  • Excellent communication, conflict management, decision-making, motivational, and organizational skills required.
  • Strong self-confidence and leadership skills required.
  • Basic mechanical skills required.
  • Ability to work designated Shift schedule, which includes every other weekend rotation.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the location to which they apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Bakery and/or Food/Beverage manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in Kronos timekeeping system.
  • Proficiency in SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned team of employees, including direction, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Directly supervise non-supervisory (lead) employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve issues.
  • Direct the conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost.
  • Control raw material formula consistency.
  • Monitor proper inventory rotation of raw materials and packaging.
  • Maintain a 5S environment.
  • Schedule, maintain, and approve production employees’ work hours on a daily basis.
  • Investigate scheduling and/or payroll-related issues with employees.
  • Comply with customer service and Company standards.
  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data and plan operations.
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Resolve employee complaints or submit unsettled complaints to the Employee & Community Relations Manager.
  • Handle all disciplinary actions and employee disputes.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate all employees to meet future needs.
  • Attend meetings and make presentations as needed.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all Company rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, etc.
  • Work in variable temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Work in wet, humid areas.
