About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to oversee production operations, including juice and cannery departments. This role is responsible for daily operational functions, ensuring accuracy, continuous flow, quality assurance, productivity, and continuous improvement to meet established goals. The supervisor will lead personnel in production and other functional areas, ensuring adherence to operational standards and deadlines. This leadership position is based at the Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing operations, management, environmental science, or related field; or, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.
  • 3 years’ relevant production work experience in the manufacturing industry; food processing experience required.
  • 1 years’ experience supervising a large group of employees, preferably in a union environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and credit screen, and to work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises production personnel and provides training in the operation of using various methods, tools, equipment and technology to achieve 100% accuracy in yield control.
  • Coordinates changeovers with Shift Manager.
  • Reviews operations and confers with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems to ensure plant operates at optimum efficiency.
  • Monitors production output against standards for units produced, product quality, labor cost, employee safety, raw material yields and cost control in conformance with established standards.
  • Monitors production lines for correct machine settings for optimum performance while conforming to product Manufacturing Standard Practices (MSPs).
