About The Position

The Ideal Tridon Group is a global leader in clamps, strut, hose supports, conduit, fittings, and coupling solutions, with over 100 years of experience. They are seeking a Production Supervisor for the 3rd Shift at their Smyrna, TN Wesanco ZSi Strut Plant. This role is responsible for directing all shift personnel, ensuring a safe work environment, and verifying that all required training is completed. The supervisor will be accountable for achieving or exceeding performance targets in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity, with direct responsibility for materials handling, production planning and control, manufacturing, packaging, inventory control, and shipping. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who fosters a culture aligned with the Company’s Core Values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, including bill of materials, work order management, inventory control.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Proven track record of improving overall efficiencies, reducing cost, and leading teams to effect positive change within the organization.
  • Microsoft Office experience (Outlook-Word-Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • A relevant business or engineering degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Packaging, Assembly, Warehouse, Steel and Welding manufacturing team members who assemble, package, label, set up, and operate steel manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure production schedules are met daily while maintaining safety, environmental, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Lead and direct employee functions including selection, hiring, development, performance reviews, and creating development plans.
  • Manage personnel training and hands-on training, serving as a mentor.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality System and Environmental Management System.
  • Direct work teams and supervise the shift’s production efforts to meet published schedules.
  • Participate and assist in decisions concerning hiring, promotion, discipline, and discharge.
  • Maintain a consistently safe work environment and demonstrate commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Hold employees accountable for required safety, environmental, quality, and quantity standards and maintaining an inspection-ready workplace.
  • Ensure team members receive sufficient training to accomplish their roles safely and productively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure efficient coordination and processing of work orders and develop collaborative working relationships with support functions.
  • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement activities such as implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing tools and automated inspection requirements.
  • Consistently lead continuous improvement teams/activities to improve operating efficiencies, reduce costs, and identify unfavorable trends concerning downtime, safety, and quality issues.
  • Make timely corrections or plan activities with support functions to correct and improve upon issues.
  • Understand the process for containing nonconforming product and completing a RID.
  • Satisfactorily complete the job position’s Training Instruction Checklist.
  • Perform other typical duties when necessary.
