The primary role of the Production Supervisor is to lead a team of employees to execute and meet expectations set forth by plant goals from the Production Manager or Plant Manager.   • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all JHAs are up to date and that all team members have reviewed, understood, and signed off (trained) on all JHAs within the department.
  • Oversee the training of new or transferred team members on all applicable JHAs.
  • Achieve 100% on-time completion of monthly Layered Safety Audits (LSA).
  • Complete the required number of Hazard ID and Coaching Moments on a monthly basis.
  • Communicate daily safety messages (DSU), Safety Incidents, and Actions through Pre-Shift Meetings.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions for any Safety Incidents that occur within the department.
  • Ensure 100% accountability to the 24/7/14 rule for incident reporting and investigation.
  • Hold the team accountable to the Violation of Safety Rules Policy.
  • Understand and lead adherence to the Process Flow Diagram with line balance.
  • Ensure teams are following station discipline defined per MERP/Task List.
  • Ensure teams are following the Safety Culture inspection process, identifying internal issues.
  • Lead RCA for top repeating quality issues in the department/line.
  • Lead corrective actions implementation from RCA.
  • Hold teams accountable through coaching, training, and progressive disciplinary processes when root cause is identified as MAN.
  • Ensure 100% of Quality Alerts are reviewed with team members with training sign-off.
  • Ensure lines are running at RTO (Required Throughput Output) with float (no extra positions).
  • Conduct daily audits of UKG systems, focusing on timekeeping, attendance, and job codes, and correct punches DAILY.
  • Lead progressive disciplinary actions with team members (Safety, Quality & HR policies).
  • Hold team members accountable to the attendance policy (STO, PTO, unexcused absences).
  • Ensure consistent and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts, setting an example for the team and supporting overall operation.
  • Clarify and communicate all goals (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity) to the entire team through Pre-Shift meetings, CCC boards, etc.
  • Provide continuous support on the production floor.
  • Ensure 100% on-time completion of the annual merit process (Performance Review + Merit Recommendation within budget).
  • Ensure on-time completion of the 90-day onboarding checklist with all new hires.
  • Ensure cross-training of team members within the line/department to meet targets.
  • Maintain a line proficiency chart documenting cross-training of the team.
  • Positively recognize teams (e.g., Pre-Shift meetings, Bravo recognitions, daily “Thank You”).
  • Lead waste walks within the department.
  • Ensure weekly 5S audits are completed on-time and corrective actions are completed.
  • Train the team on Direct Labor Efficiency (DLE) targets and ensure the team is meeting expectations.
  • Ensure the MERP system is updated accurately every day before the end of the shift.
  • Lead daily Pre-Shift Meetings, ensuring all topics are covered (Recognitions, Safety, Quality, HR, Productivity & Game Plan).
  • Other duties as assigned.
