About The Position

The Production Supervisor will drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity for the assigned production teams, ensuring goals are met through standardized work, process discipline, and worker engagement. The role leads the assigned Production Area with a focus on safety, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. The position is located at PPG's Strongsville, Ohio plant, reports to the Production Manager, and is on the third shift.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
At least 3 years of production experience.
Previous supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, and stand or walk for long periods in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor's degree.
Experience in chemical or batch manufacturing.
Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic supervisory administration and maintain related documents.
Lead daily shift meetings focused on recognizing safety hazards and sharing a safety tip of the day.
Assign and prioritize work for the hourly workforce.
Maintain the safety program and promote a “Safety First” culture and safe working environment.
Manage production progress, including workflow optimization, staffing, and resource allocation; implement cost-saving measures and manage the shift to meet plant metrics and goals.
Collaborate with other supervisors and cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS, to solve problems.
Use data to identify solutions and recommend actions.
Build workforce engagement, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
