About The Position

Production Supervisor - Structural Steel Division We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead shop operations in a structural steel fabrication environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Supervise and coordinate shop personnel including machine operators, fitters, welders, and shipping/receiving Review shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards Partner with Quality Control and Production Management to address deficiencies and ensure quality Enforce safety standards; conduct orientations and weekly toolbox talks Train employees on fabrication methods, performance standards, and safety procedures Monitor production schedules, manpower, and time tracking; communicate issues to management Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality Track production progress and report delays, material issues, or schedule impacts Participate in weekly production meetings and daily coordination with management Collaborate with internal teams and occasionally with customers Qualifications 7–10 years of supervisory or lead experience in structural steel fabrication (columns, beams, bracing, trusses) Strong knowledge of methods, materials, shop equipment, and safety practices of the fabrication process Comprehensive knowledge of AISC and AWS standards Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents (sketches, diagrams, drawings, etc.) Strong communication and leadership skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Tekla EPM, and Bluebeam Required Skills: Ability to read/write/speak English High school diploma or GED Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical shop duties Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work overtime as needed Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check Benefits: Competitive salary (based on experience) Health, dental, and life insurance (includes vision) 401(k) with employer match/profit sharing Full-time, 1st shift (Monday–Friday + overtime as needed) Paid vacation and holidays We are a structural steel and miscellaneous fabrication company that has been an integral part of the Connecticut construction landscape for more than 65 years. Requirements

  • 7–10 years of supervisory or lead experience in structural steel fabrication (columns, beams, bracing, trusses)
  • Strong knowledge of methods, materials, shop equipment, and safety practices of the fabrication process
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AISC and AWS standards
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents (sketches, diagrams, drawings, etc.)
