About The Position

EW Grobbel is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor for their Detroit facility, specifically for the 2nd shift (4:00pm - 2:00am). This is an active position with 100% of time spent on the plant floor, requiring the supervisor to manage production employees in a fast-paced, high-volume, non-union manufacturing environment. The role involves leading a team to identify and resolve production process problems and bottlenecks, with a strong emphasis on creating an engaged and team-oriented workforce. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plant production operations, supervision, employee development, and progressive discipline, with a proven track record of mentorship and team building.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting required
  • Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, analytical, and communications skills are necessary for success in this position
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • English-Spanish bilingual is a bonus

  • Food safety training will be provided and is not required for employment

Responsibilities

  • Assist with production goals and communicate the goals to the production staff
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Oversee and coach employees
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
  • Check production output according to specifications
  • Make sure that employees are trained/ cross-trained and understand and follow work instructions
  • Work on continuous improvement and efficiency of each operation
  • Enforce safety guidelines and company standards
  • The position is very hands-on, and supervisors are usually on the plant floor about 100% of the shift
  • Ability to directly supervise 20+ employees in the manufacturing department

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000.
