About The Position

Eaton’s GEIS division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift. This position is onsite at our GEIS Headquarters in Syracuse, NY. The 1st shift hours are 6AM - 2:30PM. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Requirements

Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience.
Must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY (Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or related field of study from an accredited institution
Two (2) years machining experience (CNC, manual machining, etc.)
Three (3) years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity in a manufacturing environment.
Foundry experience.
Experience with SAP business system experience
Experience with Microsoft Office platform
Experience with Union environments
Experience with Continuous Improvement projects

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for a work group within the plant.
Track performance with respect to safety & the environment, quality, on-time delivery, cost for their respective area.
Act as the first line contact between production employees and the management staff.
Work on continuous improvement initiatives.
Conduct Daily Team stand-up meeting with all department personnel in areas of responsibility.
Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor.
Help drive and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance.
Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed, and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.
Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully perform job.
Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times as well as ensure alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies.
Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements in order to meet customer deadlines.
