Production Supervisor, Night Shift
About The Position
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to provide leadership and ensure all company safety rules and regulations are observed by employees. This role will interface with regulatory agencies, ensure product quality, and provide technical and tactical support to hourly employees. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for executing the daily production plan, ensuring operations personnel perform quality work, and participating in daily production meetings. This position also involves overseeing arrangements to keep the plant running during breakdowns and providing feedback. The Production Manager has overall responsibility for operations management to achieve goals.
Requirements
- 2+ years supervisor experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Previous experience as department supervisor for larger facilities
- Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions
- Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
- Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of operational management
- Knowledge of people management skills
- Technical credibility as it relates to industry
- Demonstrated ability to assess organizational and people issues, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver solutions that improve facility performance
Nice To Haves
- Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. preferred
- Demonstrable success in cultural 'turn around' a plus
- Experience in mining and/or heavy manufacturing industry preferred
- Preference on mining for technical credibility
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with regulatory agencies are observed by employees, site safety goals, and administer safety initiatives
- Interface with regulatory agencies as required
- Ensure quality of product during process
- Provide technical and tactical support to the hourly employees
- Ensure the execution of the daily production plan
- Uses the production modules under the SAP system
- Ensure operations personnel perform quality work
- Participate in a daily meeting with production team
- Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns
- Provide feedback
- Supervise hourly personnel
