About The Position

The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival. Requirements

Bachelors’ degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills in a Manufacturing setting.
Solid skills with Excel.
Must be willing to work night shift.

Responsibilities

Assign and monitor work to achieve production efficiently.
Direct, train, appraise, develop, and discipline hourly employees as required.
Assure production meets quality standards and control scrap and rework.
Implement plant policies and procedures in regard to safety and health.
Assist in establishing and setting up equipment for production jobs or for improved processes.
Report and follow through on tooling needs and equipment maintenance problems.
Assure compliance with all plant policies and procedures.
Drive employee communication.
Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.
Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning
Attend all meetings and training as scheduled
Undertake assigned projects as directed by Plant or Department Manger
