The company is seeking a Production Supervisor (Mixing) to join their team.

Requirements

  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of food manufacturing experience (preferably bakery or frozen food production)
  • Previous experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of BRC (or similar GFSI), HACCP, GMP, and OHSA
  • Strong leadership and people management with a focus on growth and accountability
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple operational priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills

  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working within a BRC or GFSI audited facility

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Mixing Team Leads and Operators to drive strong and sustainable team performance.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable to safety, quality, productivity, and behavioral standards.
  • Conduct performance management activities including coaching, feedback, and disciplinary actions where required.
  • Build a strong team culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop the Team Leads to independently manage shifts while maintaining alignment to department goals.
  • Own department’s output and performance, ensuring production targets and schedules are consistently achieved.
  • Translate production schedules into effective staffing and execution plans.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, efficiency, downtime, and waste.
  • Review daily and shift-level performance to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate execution of batch recipes, product specifications, and operational standards.
  • Plan workforce requirements based on production demand, material availability, and operational constraints.
  • Coordinate proactively with Maintenance, QA, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adjust plans in response to equipment issues, staffing challenges, or material shortages.
  • Ensure alignment between production execution and business priorities.
  • Maintain full accountability for food safety and quality standards within the Mixing department.
  • Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP, and all company food safety requirements.
  • Investigate quality issues and non-conformances using structured root cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why).
  • Implement and sustain corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with QA.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in compliance with OHSA and company policies.
  • Ensure hazards are identified, addressed, and prevented proactively.
  • Lead, investigate, and close Incident Investigation Reports in collaboration with JHSC.
  • Reinforce safe work practices and accountability at all levels of the team.
  • Analyze production data and trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve reliability.
  • Drive root cause problem-solving to eliminate repeat issues rather than applying short-term fixes.
  • Support implementation of Lean principles and operational best practices across the department.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and KPI tracking systems.
  • Utilize ERP and production systems to monitor performance and support decision-making.
  • Prepare and communicate performance summaries, action plans, and updates to management.
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
