About The Position

This position is responsible for promoting a safe work environment, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and managing the daily operations of the production area. The role involves planning work schedules, assigning staff, and setting production priorities. The Production Supervisor will monitor and evaluate operations for quality and efficiency, inspect materials and equipment, and ensure timely resolution of associate performance concerns. A key aspect of this role is fostering a culture of continuous improvement by supporting Lean manufacturing principles and implementing process improvements. Additionally, the supervisor will participate in onboarding and training, provide guidance on process improvements, and oversee job-related activities including building stakeholder relationships and supporting business initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in a related environment (for example, logistics / supply chain, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing).
  • 2 years’ experience in clerical-related responsibilities (for example, filing, data entry) and computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, food science or related area.
  • Packaging experience within a related environment (for example, dairy production, food processing, and manufacturing).
  • Supervisory experience in a dairy plant, food processing or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring associates utilize the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas by ensuring floors are free of debris, equipment is operational, and potential safety hazards are promptly addressed.
  • Request materials, supplies, replacement parts, and repair services as needed to support production operations.
  • Manage the daily operations of the production area by planning and establishing work schedules, staffing assignments, and production priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes, and practices to ensure quality, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment for defects, damage, or malfunctions and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Assist with production sequencing and scheduling to meet production goals while providing superior customer service.
  • Ensure the timely and appropriate resolution of associate performance concerns through coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Complete, review, and analyze departmental reports to monitor operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by supporting Lean manufacturing principles, documenting best practices, and implementing process improvements.
  • Participate in onboarding and ongoing training to develop associate knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Provide guidance on process improvements related to waste reduction, quality management, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities by building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business plans and initiatives, identifying and communicating goals, building accountability, and identifying and addressing process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, assigning work, monitoring performance, recognizing accomplishments, and promoting an inclusive workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans, utilizing and promoting the Open Door Policy, providing guidance on applying company policies, and supporting Walmart's mission, values, and culture.
