About The Position

As a Production Superintendent at Interfor’s Elk Lake Division you will take on a high-impact leadership role guiding sawmill operations in a fast-paced, technical manufacturing environment. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned supervisor ready to grow with structured development, coaching and exposure to broader mill operations. You will lead through the principles of Extreme Ownership building a culture where leaders take responsibility, support their teams and drive continuous improvement across safety, production and quality.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years in manufacturing operations, including 5+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong supervisory experience within manufacturing with the drive to grow into a senior operational role.
  • Solid understanding of sawmill or industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, consistently and simply ensuring alignment and shared understanding across teams with frequent follow up and follow through.
  • Openness to coaching, development and applying leadership principles to elevate team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for safety, performance and ensuring your team has the tools, clarity and support to work safely every day.
  • Oversee sawmill operations with a focus on productivity, quality and cost control. Manage competing demands and maintain operational flow.
  • Coach supervisors, lead hands and operators empowering them to lead at their level while maintaining alignment with mill objectives.
  • Work seamlessly with maintenance, process control and sales teams to optimize value and outcome.
  • Support environmental compliance including dust systems, storm water and process water management.
  • Drive improvement initiatives and support capital projects using clear communication and clear plans ensuring alignment with senior leadership.
