About The Position

This position directs the production/processing supervisors across several departments on a single shift to assure cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products. It involves directing production operations and personnel to meet established production and quality control standards, controlling budget and costs, and providing data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products produced. The role also establishes short-term activities directed toward production continuity and balance, such as shift schedules, ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance. Coordination with other plant function areas is essential to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality. The position is responsible for selecting, organizing, training, and motivating the production labor force to ensure consistent attainment of production schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels. Recommendations for improvements in production flow or methods, effective use of operating methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality, and counseling supervisors on job performance and departmental efficiencies are also key aspects. Modifications of machines and equipment to improve production and quality are also recommended.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations
  • Strong diplomacy and communication skills
  • High School Diploma (GED) required.
  • Drug, alcohol, and background checks are conducted post-offer and prior to the start of employment.
  • Verification of employment eligibility must be documented for all new employees by the end of the third day of work.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of supervisory training experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
