About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Production Superintendent - 2nd shift to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving performance across production teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2am.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment, with strong knowledge of fabrication processes.
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within an ISO 9001 manufacturing setting (fast-paced environments preferred)

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (Spanish and/or Somali) is a plus

Responsibilities

Lead with safety as the top priority by ensuring compliance with all company policies and OSHA regulations.
Plan and manage production schedules across manufacturing departments to meet customer demand and delivery commitments.
Oversee daily production activities to ensure product quality, efficiency targets, and lead-time expectations are consistently met.
Hire, train, coach, and develop team members—including temporary staff—to build a strong, engaged workforce.
Adjust staffing levels, overtime, and resources needed to achieve production and delivery goals.
Be comfortable leading on the shop floor and engaging directly with employees in a high-accountability manufacturing environment.
