The Production Sub role is part of the Print Operations business, specifically within the Printing and packaging of several newspaper titles including The Wall Street Journal, Barrons, and Investors Business Daily. The role is based at the White Oak, Maryland print plant and reports to the Foreman/Woman. The primary function is to perform daily press operations in the manufacturing of Dow Jones' and contract print publications, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality standards using existing technology. This involves preparing, operating, and maintaining newspaper printing presses and associated pressroom equipment, including making pasters, operating web presses, pushing rolls, hanging printing plates, setting color and registration, and general equipment cleaning and maintenance. The role also requires meeting customer expectations for reproduction quality, content freshness, and productivity, while managing material consumption cost-effectively in a fast-paced newspaper production environment.
