About The Position

Topcon Positioning Group is hiring a temporary Production Specialist to manufacture precision products in a modern production facility using production technology and traditional craft techniques. The role involves interpreting fulfillment orders and blueprints, preparing and replenishing materials, assembling products, and checking workmanship and materials against tight tolerances and quality standards. The position is scheduled for the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are no evening or weekend shifts. The temporary role has the potential to convert to a hire.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of tasks with little supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform pushing, pulling, squatting, reaching, bending, carrying, lifting, and walking.
• Ability to pick and pull material from workstations above shoulder level.
• Wear steel-toe shoes or boots meeting OSHA standard ASTM F2413-18.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment is preferred but not required.
• Prior soldering experience is preferred; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Read product fulfillment orders and blueprints and follow configuration instructions.
• Take inventory of parts and replenish stock as needed.
• Craft products using production equipment, including microscopes, soldering tools, automatic washers, magnet cranes, thermal testing chambers, and sand blasters.
• Join or secure parts using crimps, screws, solder, and hand tools.
• Evaluate materials and workmanship throughout production to ensure products meet tight tolerances and quality-control standards.
• Work collaboratively with the team to solve problems and deliver results.
