For more information, please visit www.lggindustrial.com ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Role Profile Position: Production Specialist - Industrial Sewing Job Location: West Valley, UT Job Type: Full-Time Status: Non-Exempt Summary of the Role This position is responsible for utilizing industrial sewing machines to fabricate vinyl curtains, cushions, and tarps. In addition, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing or distribution based and may include assembling and manufacturing sales orders, picking product from the warehouse, shipping and receiving, and where required, delivery of products to customers.

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess the ability to interact with team members in a professional manner.
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Requires basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure.
  • Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2 - 5 years of related warehousing or production experience
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation is a must
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
  • Ability to safely drive a Company truck or other mechanical equipment
  • Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)
  • Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis.
  • Ability to move freely throughout the job site, including on potential uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work at varying work-surface levels and machine operation heights.
  • Ability to move to above or below workstations or retrieve items from various heights.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders or stairs, as required.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to count, measure, and record data accurately.
  • Ability to inspect products and materials for defects, quality, and compliance.
  • Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to detect imperfections, defects, or irregularities in materials and products.
  • Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery (training and certification may be required).
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to temperature changes, dust, and warehouse noise.
  • Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day if position requires driving.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.

  • Basic computer skills preferred, including email and internet
  • Industrial setting experience
  • Experience in sewing tarps/awnings or upholstery preferred
  • Experience on single/double needle sewing machines preferred

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
  • Industrial sewing fabrication - assemble heavy duty vinyl tarps and silicone coated fiberglass per instructions using a single/double needle sewing machine.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining company standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Assembles products to company, customer and manufacturer’s standards.
  • Performs all product testing to quality standards as required by the customer and per company work instruction.
  • Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse.
  • Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping.
  • Delivers product as required.
  • Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts (if applicable).
  • Assists with physical inventory.
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for.
