About The Position

The Production Shop Lead is a functional leadership role and a lead resource for team members, providing knowledge, experience, support, and advice. The role requires understanding proper team procedures and ensuring that they are followed. The Production Shop Lead may share industry techniques for using tools and equipment and recommendations for improving production quality or speed.

Requirements

Able to operate more than one type of machine or use multiple fabrication techniques.
Able to motivate and train other operators.

Responsibilities

Produce quality products to precise specifications within time constraints.
Facilitate training and ensure the team meets or exceeds production and quality expectations.
Communicate production matters to the appropriate individuals.
Set up and operate production machinery to fabricate and repair parts and products.
Maintain equipment.
Set up tooling, jigs, and fixtures, and prepare jobs for other fabricators.
Perform general warehouse duties when required.
Complete paperwork for Work Orders, Transfer Orders, and Shipments, and route it appropriately.
Ensure dimensional and visual part inspections are performed and recommend improvements to inspection processes and equipment.
Instruct the team on safety procedures, perform safety checks, and ensure Lock Out, Tag Out is properly performed.
Notify appropriate individuals about safety issues.
Recommend improvements in safety, processes, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
