About The Position

Premium Waters is seeking a Production Shift Lead for their new high-speed bottling line. This role supports the Production Supervisor in training production and injection molding staff, overseeing daily production activities, and ensuring a safe, quality-focused, and cost-effective operation. The position emphasizes leadership, employee development, safety compliance, and hands-on troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment. The Shift Lead will also be responsible for quality checks, documentation, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the production area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years Packaging or Manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Must be able to complete the forklift certification course and drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Act as backup to the Production Supervisor.
  • Train all production and injection molding staff.
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities.
  • Maintain a safe work group focused on quality, customer service, people development, and producing products at the lowest possible cost.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor in leading a team of 6-8 production personnel.
  • Promote a people-first culture, operating honestly and ethically, and fostering a strong team-oriented environment.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment through a feedback-driven workplace.
  • Drive safety compliance by setting and enforcing safety guidelines; act as a company safety champion.
  • Provide hands-on safety training for all Production staff.
  • Lead, motivate, and delegate personnel in the Production area.
  • Spend at least 95% of time on the production floor, developing and supporting employees.
  • Perform hands-on setup, training, and troubleshooting of all packaging and production equipment.
  • Execute a multitude of packaging & food safety Quality Checks and document appropriately.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of automated packaging and manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate, train, and troubleshoot molding equipment, fillers, labelers, cappers, case packers, and robotic palletizers.
  • Ensure Production employees are trained in quality and machinery operations, and all relevant operating procedures.
  • Gain knowledge of GMP's, sanitation standards, and SQF & FDA requirements.
  • Ensure all production staff follow key steps in quality and food safety processes.
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of products according to the production schedule.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the entire production area.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of all machines, tools, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Complete or verify completion of all paperwork on time and accurately.
