About The Position

The Production Scheduling Manager manages the planning and establishment of production schedules, monitors materials inventories, tracks production progress, and reviews factors that affect schedules. The role directs staffing, training, and performance management for the production scheduling function and oversees production scheduling for assigned site(s) to support customer service and manufacturing efficiency.

The position works with Operations and other stakeholders to address scheduling conflicts, forecast overtime needs, monitor workload and capacity, communicate schedule status, and improve scheduling processes and information flow. Work is primarily in an office, with occasional time in production or warehouse settings. Employees are expected to comply with legal standards, meet customer expectations, and maintain quality standards in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organizational policies, standards, and procedures guiding manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations, and regulatory requirements associated with worker, environmental, and site safety and protection.
• Knowledge of existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components.
• Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements, and management of a manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility.
• Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and optimizing manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct staffing, training, and performance management to develop and improve the production scheduling function.
• Analyze incoming production order requirements and oversee the master manufacturing schedule for assigned site(s) to support customer service and manufacturing efficiencies.
• Monitor materials inventory to determine production schedules effectively.
• Communicate upcoming scheduling conflicts with key stakeholders and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with the Operations team to forecast production labor overtime requirements.
• Analyze daily backlog business reports to monitor workload and capacity requirements.
• Communicate schedule status and related scheduling information at daily production meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the production scheduling process and information flow.
