The Production Scheduler is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. This role has a specific focus on the materials and goods required in the production phase, ensuring the working space is properly maintained for optimal performance. The Production Scheduler will also plan production schedules to meet delivery commitments, organize and monitor production progress, identify risks, and communicate them to management. This role involves confirming all open production Jobs are addressed, updated, and changed according to current reporting and priority levels, as well as researching and resolving issues on Jobs/work orders that are projected to be past due. The Production Scheduler will communicate with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Shipping, and Production teams, provide detailed commitments for new orders, input information into the computer system, and prepare management reports as required. Additionally, this role will analyze material usage variances, ensure the Production Order life cycle is completed to established goals, manage inventory plans to established targets, provide backup support to the production planning team, and conduct rough cut capacity planning. The Production Scheduler will act as an internal educator and consultant on scheduling issues, identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts related to material and capacity availability, and maintain planned scheduling parameters. Establishing a strong line of communication with all company functions and informing management when demand cannot be met are also key responsibilities. Other tasks may be assigned.
