About The Position

The Manufacturing Production Planner assists with day-to-day operations in the planning and scheduling area, including creating work packages and instructions, managing materials, and helping ensure production goals are met efficiently and on time. The role supports workflow coordination and adherence to safety, quality, and budgetary standards. The planner works with other teams to address production challenges, such as material shortages or workflow disruptions, and helps ensure processes are followed correctly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Blueprint reading experience required.
• At least 3 years of relevant manufacturing or planning experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of production processes, quality control, and inventory management.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Technical proficiency with material requirements planning and scheduling software.
• Verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Completion of a shipyard apprenticeship is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating work packages and instructions and managing materials to meet quality standards and production schedules.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure materials are available and prevent shortages or overstock.
• Monitor production processes for adherence to safety regulations, company standards, and customer requirements.
• Address material shortages and workflow disruptions to help maintain production timelines.
• Coordinate with inventory and purchasing teams to support timely material availability.
• Track and report work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production issues.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with other planning-related tasks as needed.
