  • Able to use a touch screen tablet and desktop computer.
  • Ability to learn and use AI tools to improve work
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage many concurrent projects under shifting deadlines.
  • Able to interpret capacity, utilization, and variance data and translate it into scheduling actions.
  • Must be able to handle various levels of stress associated with tight customer deadlines and short lead times.
  • Must be prepared to work overtime as needed to meet turnaround goals.
  • Office-based role with regular plant visits; must be able to stand and walk plant floors during rounds and to sit and use computer/office tools for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel to plants for in-person rounds and project launches. Travel is expected to be less than 25% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Balance production demand across all Moss plants nationwide; move and reassign work between sites to smooth load, prevent bottlenecks, and maximize throughput while honoring customer commitments.
  • Serve as the central decision point for accepting new orders into the schedule, including evaluating Can‑We‑Do requests from Sales and identifying the optimal plant and timing for each job based on capacity, capability, and ship-date requirements.
  • Partner daily with Sales, Pre‑Production, and Production Management to gather scheduling requirements, prioritize work, and resolve conflicts.
  • Run and participate in daily AM and PM production meetings; lead large project launch meetings with Pre‑Production to set and maintain key milestones for major projects.
  • Monitor schedule attainment across production departments; review due dates and need-by dates and work with department leaders to drive on‑time completion.
  • Track rework once entered into the system through to completion and ensure schedules reflect current status.
  • Maintain and update weekly capacity across plants; use Domo dashboards and other reports daily, weekly, and monthly to drive capacity-based actions, including reshuffling work between sites.
  • Manage rescheduling of ship dates, communicate missed shipments, and develop alternate or partial shipment plans when full delivery is not feasible.
  • Coordinate pull‑from‑stock requests and inventory allocations.
  • Own back‑dated order cleanup in FileMaker — review the previous 30 days weekly and close out internal Sales items as complete.
  • Compile and provide weekly shipping cleanup lists for jobs eligible for closure.
  • Flag estimated vs. actual hour variances and request feedback from operations to improve future scheduling accuracy and capacity assumptions.
  • Provide rental oversight and participate in the daily Rental RMA huddle to ensure rental work is properly scheduled and coordinated alongside production work.
  • Conduct plant rounds (in person where possible, remote where necessary) to maintain firsthand awareness of conditions on the floor and validate that scheduling decisions reflect operational reality.
  • Use Domo and other analytics tools to surface scheduling trends, capacity utilization, and performance metrics; generate reports that inform decisions on accepting, moving, and prioritizing work nationwide.
  • Identify inefficiencies in scheduling workflows and propose improvements; stay current on scheduling tools and software, and help evaluate and adopt technologies that improve scheduling accuracy and speed.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with other departments, escalating workflow or quality issues as needed.
  • Complete assignments on time with attention to detail, documentation, and follow-through.
