About The Position

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for creating daily extrusion and packaging schedules for the branch plant. The primary focus of this position is to optimize the weekly schedule to ensure the plant maintains performance output, waste, and service level objectives. Will use sound judgment and discretion in making timely scheduling decisions, including production planning and scheduling. Regularly attend operations meetings to drive collaboration with operations teams, to meet production schedule demand and collaborate in team-driven problem solving if disruption to the supply of raw materials or other production challenges.

Requirements

  • Work both collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound judgment and use discretion.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Must be customer focused – both internal and external.
  • Education: Four-year degree. Supply Chain, Business, or Finance Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • The employee is required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, to manipulate keys on a keyboard and view data on a computer screen.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb stairs, walk, reach with arms and hands.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • APICS Certification recommended, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production schedule based on customer demand and plant capacity.
  • Create daily extrusion and packaging schedules for the branch plant.
  • Manage all packaging, diet, protein, and WIP work orders within the SAGE ERP system.
  • Revise production schedule when required due to production changes, labor or ingredient shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
  • Distribute production schedules or work orders to other departments as needed.
  • Support all plant performance, waste, and service objectives.
  • Serve as plant supply point person to Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance for all production related communications.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to support special plant production requests from customers i.e., shipper, display, or other promotional programs.
  • Assist Sales with order sizes and revisions.
  • Support process improvement initiatives as production scheduling functional lead.
  • Participate in inventory aging migration analysis.
  • Assume responsibility for own personal development and continuous learning.
  • Keep abreast on new technology, methods and regulations related to responsibilities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
