About The Position

This role is responsible for creating, releasing, and maintaining manufacturing and complete work orders within the ERP system, ensuring accuracy of BOMs, routings, and work instructions. The Production Scheduler/Planner will also plan purchase requisitions, manage engineering deliverables using specific software, and communicate released orders to shop floor personnel. Key duties include monitoring open work orders, managing rescheduling, sequencing production tasks, confirming material availability, responding to production changes, reporting schedule deviations, maintaining schedule-related data, and participating in production meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, production control, planning, purchasing or manufacturing preferred.
  • Understanding of blueprints, machining, fabrication, and raw materials (or willingness to learn).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Professional, confident, and diplomatic interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, with the capacity to anticipate and adapt to change.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, ethical, and motivating approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Oracle ERP knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create, release, and maintain manufacturing and complete work orders in the ERP system, ensuring accurate BOMs, routings, and work instructions.
  • Plan purchase requisitions per ERP system demands and communicate necessary changes to the purchasing team.
  • Plan Engineering deliverables utilizing the Intuiflow Scheduling and Execution software.
  • Communicate released orders to the appropriate shop floor personnel and departments.
  • Monitor open work orders and manage rescheduling or reallocation based on changing priorities.
  • Sequence production tasks across work centers to promote flow based on priority, due dates, and available capacity.
  • Confirm material availability prior to releasing orders and escalate shortages as necessary.
  • Respond to production changes due to downtime, engineering changes, or expedited orders, adjusting and communicating schedule changes promptly.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve issues impacting order execution and support flow.
  • Report deviations from the schedule and support root cause analysis of delays or issues.
  • Maintain schedule-related data in the ERP/MRP system, including lead times, order statuses, and shop calendars.
  • Participate in or facilitate production meetings to provide updates and receive direction from the Master Scheduler.
  • Work with all other departments and functions of the company to ensure effective processing of customer orders.
  • Assist project and sales teams with costing and quotation requests.
  • Assist in closing orders and providing an analysis of the process and cost.
  • Provide feedback to the MRP Planners for updates to routing.
  • Release common items through the work bench.
  • Ensure effective cross-departmental collaboration to process customer orders seamlessly.
  • Represent NOV professionally in all communications and external interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, HSE standards, and support process requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
