About The Position

The Production Scheduler Lead SSBO is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of parts in the shipping area and coordinating the workloads of shipping area personnel. This role involves coordinating shipments using in-process lot status reports and customer shipping schedules to ensure timely delivery of completed shipments to customers.

Requirements

  • Previous shipping department experience required, with manufacturing shipping experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of shipping functions.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory systems, preferably computerized systems.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions and shipping/postal regulations.
  • Ability to organize workloads efficiently and attend to details.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities, including the work of others.
  • Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous computer experience desirable.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory of all parts in the shipping area, including computerized inventory and logging outgoing shipments.
  • Initiate paperwork for part removal from inventory and calculate/report daily in and shipped dollar figures.
  • Make adjustments to the computerized inventory system as needed.
  • Schedule shipping area clerical, marking, and packing activities to ensure effective workload management.
  • Order inspection certification paperwork and ensure proper documentation accompanies parts.
  • Apply castings in inventory to scheduled and blanket customer purchase orders.
  • Maintain export licensing logbook and route all shipments according to standard instructions and customer specifications.
  • Communicate daily with planning, engineering, operations, and freight carriers to ensure efficient and timely shipments.
  • Order necessary supplies for the shipping area.
  • Schedule shipments to vendors for outside processing.
  • Schedule parts through machine facilities and supply the supervisor with production forecast needs (LSBO only).
  • Identify potential capacity problems and work with the supervisor to identify hours for outside sources.
  • Provide the Tool Crib supervisor with the production schedule by part number.
  • Provide the supervisor with development parts lists and new programs, coordinate fixture requirements, and forecast staffing, machine, and space needs.
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, and identify/report safety problems.
