About The Position

The Production Project Manager is responsible for facilitating the successful production and assembly of Sidus’ avionics workstreams, which includes circuit card assemblies, compute modules, electrical subsystems, and cable harnessing. This is an onsite position in Cape Canaveral, FL. Lead end-to-end project management for avionics production programs, from planning and scheduling through delivery. Liaise and facilitate the efforts of a broad multi-functional group including design, manufacturing, and test engineering as well as supply chain and other operations teams to enable successful production of avionics hardware. Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, production milestones, and risk mitigation strategies. Broad accountability to make informed decisions regarding build sequence and schedule to optimize efficiency and meet project timelines. Triage and provide recommendations related to identified issues in order to enable production to move forward. Take ownership of the production flow for assigned products, including reporting progress and challenges to leadership, recovery planning and continuous improvement of execution. Support new product introductions (NPI) by coordinating readiness activities, tooling, fixtures, and production validation. Partner with supply chain teams to resolve material shortages, long-lead items, and vendor quality concerns. Track project financials, labor planning, and material consumption to align with manufacturing budgets. Manage optimization activities to decrease unit lead time and cost. Mitigate risks and manage impacts to ensure project objectives are achieved. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Technical expertise related to production and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with teams across the organization including engineering, production, program management and supply chain.
  • Outstanding analytic abilities and strong research skills.
  • Familiarity with agile and lean methodologies to manage and improve production processes.
  • Excellent data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage time and projects effectively.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in production and process improvement operations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing or a related complex industry preferred.
  • Project Management certification a plus.
