About The Position

FoodScience is seeking a Production Processing Operator I to support our manufacturing operations by executing key processing functions including weighing, batching, blending, and extrusion of animal supplements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, accuracy, and consistency by following detailed batch records and maintaining strict adherence to GMP and food safety standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality products with precision.

Requirements

  • High attention to detail and strong accuracy in a production environment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute batch records and written instructions
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to perform unit conversions (e.g., grams to kilograms)
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Prolonged standing with frequent walking and hands-on work
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels
  • Exposure to common allergens (milk, eggs, fish, peanuts, wheat, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, gluten)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

  • Manufacturing or production experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Execute weighing, batching, blending, extrusion, and forming processes in accordance with master batch records
  • Accurately verify raw materials, lot numbers, and weights, ensuring proper documentation and traceability
  • Utilize FIFO methodology to pull materials and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Operate and demonstrate proficiency with production equipment and scales (floor, tabletop, precision)
  • Complete all required production documentation, batch records, and logbook entries accurately and on time
  • Perform equipment startup and shutdown procedures and support efficient room setup and sanitation
  • Partner with Material Handlers to ensure materials are staged and ready for production
  • Monitor processes, identify issues, and escalate concerns to supervisors or QA as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA/QC and production leadership to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with GMP and company standards
