This role involves managing the flow of materials between suppliers and the plant, ensuring materials are available for production, and meeting inventory targets. The position requires daily monitoring of MRP exception messages, expediting purchase orders, and providing priority to suppliers during crisis shortages. A key responsibility is the monthly review of vendor forecasts and open orders, along with updating purchase order due dates in SAP. The role also includes reviewing and adjusting MRP planning parameters such as safety stock, minimum lot sizes, rounding values, pallet quantities, lead times, and lot sizing procedures. Additionally, there is a quarterly review of replenishment strategies (Kanban, ROP, or MRP) and interface with MPS Planners and Production Scheduler. The position also involves following up on SAP Planning order exceptions (past due, expedite, push out, cancel), finished good production scheduling, publishing the daily production plan, and following up on production order status and barriers. This includes reviewing with kitting if they are having issues with material, checking if orders are converted in SAP, and converting planned orders to production orders if necessary. The role also involves reviewing missing parts from the release simulation to determine if production can start without them, creating a missing parts file, and requesting estimated arrival times from the Upstream team. Finally, the role includes releasing orders and preparing them for production, separating them by assemblies, and ensuring production schedule attainment.
