Summary Join our Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) to help make shipboard life and habitability safe for our sailors! Acting as the Production Planning Scheduler 1 Manager, this position is responsible for planning, preparing and maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carrier’s HM&E engineering systems. This is a full time position located in Norfolk, VA. Must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Badge or Common Access Card (CAC) to start.

Requirements

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Strong communication skills and experience with planning and network scheduling techniques.
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office and other software with experience with Naval shipbuilding and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Must have experience with Navy’s Maintenance, Material, Management (3M) supply systems.
  • Working familiarity and general knowledge of quality assurance program practices and principles.
  • Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access.

Nice To Haves

  • A current, valid DoD Confidential security clearance or higher.
  • Previous experience as a Work Center Supervisor in the US Navy is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with US Navy Aircraft Carrier HM&E engineering systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carrier’s HM&E engineering systems.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
  • Controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
