About The Position

Green Mountain Electric Supply is seeking a Full-Time Production Planner for their Kirkwood, NY branch, focusing on the 2nd shift. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of production orders within the Epicor system. The primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate adjustments of completed orders, verifying inventory accuracy before and after production, and managing stalled orders to prevent delays. While production execution support and system accuracy are top priorities, broader inventory troubleshooting is a secondary, capacity-dependent task. Requirements

  • Complete required system adjustments in Epicor after each production order is finished.
  • Ensure footage and material usage reflect actual production results.
  • Validate inventory balances update correctly after completion.
  • Identify discrepancies discovered during order closeout and initiate corrective action.
  • Create targeted cycle counts when post-production adjustments reveal inventory variances.
  • Review orders left in Call When Complete status.
  • Confirm inventory availability before advancing the order.
  • Check for available stock at other branches.
  • If no branch inventory exists, escalate to the appropriate leaders for next steps.
  • If inventory is available: Return the order to the Production Scheduler to complete the process.
  • Prevent orders from remaining stalled due to unverified inventory.
  • Oversee recovery of reels, pallets, and bins associated with completed orders.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure materials are returned, reassigned, or properly staged.
  • Ensure materials are accurately accounted for post-production.
  • Resolve quick, straightforward inventory discrepancies that directly impact production.
  • Initiate cycle counts when discrepancies stem from production adjustments.
  • Defer complex or non-urgent inventory investigations when production workload is high.
  • Support broader inventory cleanup efforts only when time allows.
  • Escalate or hand off inventory issues to Efficiency members when deeper investigation (“detective work”) is required.
