About The Position

dormakaba is seeking a Production Planner based in Chino, CA. The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials between production cells and departments to guarantee accurate and timely execution of orders and to satisfy Customers’ needs. As part of this effort, the production planner creates and distributes production schedules; confers with other departments to determine progress of work and completion dates and reviews inventory levels and participates in resolving production problems. The Production Planner keeps Customer Service updated on the completion status of Sales Orders and confirms lead time for potential and actual sales orders. They coordinate with Purchasing to ensure raw materials, parts and components provided by our suppliers are available to fulfill production needs and to maintain safety stocks.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent with additional college credits
Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, scheduling, or production management within a manufacturing environment.
Experienced in forecasting inventory purchasing requirements
Ability to utilize MRP and ERP systems

Nice To Haves

College degree in business or supply chain management
Direct experience balancing demand, capacity, labor, and materials
Experience planning in a multi-SKU, configurable, or engineered-to-order environment
Inventory and supply chain experience
Knowledge of demand-based planning

Responsibilities

Accurately create and maintain bills of material, routings, and work orders
Accurately maintains MRP data to ensure proper stocking levels are kept and purchased parts and materials are delivered on time
Plans and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
Coordinates with other planners to establish sequence and lead time of each operation, to meet ship dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders
Plans sequence of fabrication and assembly for manufacturing
Confers with management team to determine status of assigned projects
Keeps Customer Service updated on the completion status of Sales Orders and confirms lead time for potential and actual sales orders
Coordinates with Purchasing to ensure raw materials, parts and components provided by our suppliers are available to fulfill production needs and to maintain safety stocks
