About The Position

As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for planning requirements and coordinating material flow to ensure production schedules are met. This role involves developing, maintaining, and monitoring production plans, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely availability of materials needed for manufacturing operations. You will rely on your experience and judgment to effectively plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements

  • BS in a Supply Chain and Operations Field, BA equivalent, certification, or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of production planning in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor production requirements to ensure manufacturing goals and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Utilize MRP/ERP systems to analyze demand, production schedules, inventory levels, and capacity constraints to support production planning activities.
  • Set up and maintain material, inventory, and planning system data within the MRP/ERP system.
  • Determine material requirements based on engineering specifications, demand forecasts, and production schedules, ensuring alignment between supply and manufacturing needs.
  • Coordinate the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle to support on-time production and delivery performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and planning parameters to identify shortages, excess inventory, and potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules while balancing customer demand, inventory targets, lead times, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Collaborate with production, operations, engineering, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on production priorities and schedule execution.
  • Analyze production performance and planning metrics, recommending improvements to increase efficiency, inventory accuracy, and schedule attainment.
  • Establish goals and objectives that support department and company objectives and follow up to ensure compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing activities and process optimization efforts.
  • Conduct business using sound judgment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and work behaviors.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in all functions and responsibilities and executed in a manner that supports company quality objectives.
  • Support EHS activities and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
