About The Position

The Production Planner will review open sales orders to determine customer requirements and take ownership to coordinate the delivery of parts to expedite the flow of material to meet the production schedule. This role will execute MRP messages to push, pull, or release Work Orders and release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking. The Production Planner will collaborate with appropriate teams to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met, creating action plans to ensure goals are met and following through to completion. This role will coordinate between the warehouse and purchasing on material shortages and notify Sales of any schedule impacts to customers. The Production Planner will proactively coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved, follow all policies and procedures, and initiate changes to existing processes to improve overall effectiveness. This role requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, taking action and bringing solutions to meetings as required. Other duties may be assigned to meet department and facility goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years Production Planning experience.
  • 2+ of those years must be in manufacturing.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning or Material Resource Planning experience is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability working with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Proficient in Excel formulas, look-ups and pivot tables.

Nice To Haves

  • Query capability is a plus.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
