About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for optimizing production efficiency, ensuring on-time delivery of products, and managing inventory levels. This role plays a pivotal part in our company’s success by coordinating production plans, schedules, and resources to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and optimizing resource utilization.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing experience in a production planning role, preferably within metal fabrication.
  • Vocational/technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Highly organized with effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • A collaborative, positive team-oriented approach when working with colleagues across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • CPIM certification or other relevant supply chain/production credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships across Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Procurement, and Production to support effective planning and execution.
  • Develop and maintain aggressive yet achievable production schedules aligned with business strategy and customer demand.
  • Coordinate production workflow across assigned value streams, ensuring optimal use of manpower, equipment, and raw materials.
  • Partner with Production Supervisors, Leads, and Line staff to create detailed machine and work center schedules.
  • Monitor production progress through regular shop floor engagement, daily meetings, and ongoing communication to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Proactively identify scheduling risks, bottlenecks, or supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to minimize impact.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, cost reduction, and lean manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with all Quality, HSE, and Company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operational goals.
