About The Position

Wieland is a global leader in copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution. We provide a large product and service portfolio including power, automotive, ammunition, coinage, construction materials, refrigeration, electronics and many other industries. Wieland is hiring a Production Planner. The Production Planner will be responsible for maintaining and executing production schedules that align with customer demand with internal capacities. The Production Planner will collaborate closely with procurement, operations, and sales teams to ensure efficient use of resources, timely delivery, and cost-effective production. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Business or related field (or bachelor’s degree in supply chain or industrial engineering)
  • Strong understanding of production planning and/or Master Scheduling experience.
  • Proficiency in Machine Capacity Analysis and S&OP Process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS power BI) and SAP (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CPIM Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain internal bill of materials and routings to ensure customer specifications.
  • Fine plan customer orders to ensure On Time Delivery.
  • Assess production capacity and adjust schedules to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that Pre & Finish Good Materials come in on time.
  • Collaborate with production team to address any issues or delays in the production process.
  • Monitor and record whether the production schedule is being followed, noting any deviations, delays, or changes to production timelines.
  • Identify and verify discrepancies while maintaining accuracy in inventory.
  • Support additional supply chain tasks as assigned by management.
