About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for the materials PO’s and delivery tracking as well as planning production based on internal and external customer demand, meeting customer expectations, while maintaining and balancing pre-established safety stock levels and efficiency in the manufacturing plant. The Production Planner is also responsible for the creation of stock transfer orders (STO’s) of products shipped but not produced in the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Know the organizational roles chart; specifically, who are the cross functional counterparts and what support role they play in production planning.
  • Knowledge of supplier matrix for all materials.
  • Gaining knowledge of which customers and products are on which lines, and the associated account managers.
  • Understands what aged inventory means, the reporting available, and basics of how to avoid.
  • Collaborate with demand planners and which accounts they service.
  • Begin to develop relationships with DP on top Refresco accounts.
  • Developing basic problem-solving skills by learning of and gaining access to all the system tools Refresco provides such as GIB, SAP, MRP, BW, PBI, shared excel reporting.
  • Demonstrates basic excel calculations, downloading from SAP or PBI.
  • Learn how to access and navigate Power BI reporting.
  • Gain a basic understanding of the reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in food/ beverage manufacturing, sourcing or supply chain highly desirable.
  • 3+ years of SAP experience preferred.
  • APICs Certified is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in basic line scheduling and principles, and why the system recommends orders.
  • Reviews tools needed like customer flavor changeover matrixes and production sequencing.
  • Assesses BOMs, material master data, and PRRs.
  • Understands how to make a variant to change the view in each tcode.
  • Learns the materials needed for products, appropriate suppliers, and how to place PO/Pull materials.
  • Provides material order cycle times with the purpose of learning how it affects production scheduling.
  • Understands or has knowledge in the run rates of lines and the lines' capabilities.
  • Attends meetings with operations and supply chain team.
  • Is knowledgeable in the days of supply and goal targets.
  • Adheres to safety stocks currently in system and strategy behind settings.
  • Reviews and maintains BOM and master data importance, reviews and maintains for accuracy.
  • Learns about ACE and where training documentation is located.
  • Learns the commercial team organizational chart.
  • Gains knowledge of operations counterparts in plant.
  • Performs the process of how to do transfers and when they need to be placed.
  • Learns change is inevitable and begins to develop new support relationships.
  • Pulls and compiles relative basic data for reporting purposes.
  • Develops an understanding of current processes and location of best practices files.
