About The Position

Sika is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join its growing roofing business team in Sealy, Texas. The Production Planner analyzes customer requirements and prepares daily and weekly production schedules. The role plans inventory levels for work in process (WIP) and finished goods (FG), communicates schedule changes to production, and uses customer releases and material requirements planning (MRP) to develop schedules in SAP and Excel. The planner coordinates production, engineering changes, new products, special runs, maintenance downtime, and other events while assessing resource constraints that could create bottlenecks.

Requirements

A two-year degree in business management or 3–5 years of experience in production scheduling.
Five years of general experience in the field.
Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and a computerized order processing system.
Excellent communication skills with internal stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

SAP scheduling experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze customer requirements and prepare daily and weekly production schedules.
Analyze and determine plans to maintain proper WIP and finished goods inventory levels.
Communicate schedule changes to the production area in a timely manner.
Review customer releases and MRP to develop schedules in SAP and Excel.
Develop and maintain production schedules to support efficient manufacturing operations in X4.
Schedule production to maintain appropriate WIP and finished goods inventories, support on-time shipments, and avoid expedites.
Manage phase-in and phase-out of engineering changes and new products to minimize obsolescence.
Schedule adequate time for special production runs, including samples and tool runs, maintenance downtime, and other events.
Evaluate limitations involving materials, equipment, workforce, and container availability to identify potential bottlenecks.
