About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for reviewing supply chain information, managing orders, creating efficient production schedules, and communicating with various departments to ensure timely and cost-effective production. This role involves optimizing machine efficiency, managing inventory, and coordinating the flow of work orders through the plant.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in business administration or related field
  • One to two years of experience in a production environment

Responsibilities

  • Review Supply Chain IMR/ MRP/ PPS to determine CPS' need for replenishing precut stock.
  • Collaborate with Sales to manage source orders and place them as needed to yield out a coil.
  • Review Production Planning Window and combine like items based on PPS into a Job Set.
  • Select inventory to create a customer’s specified product.
  • Create time and cost-efficient setups with easily understood directions for plant personnel.
  • Communicate with Sales, purchasing, Technical Services, and plant management regarding inventory and customer order issues.
  • Use Job Scheduling to add jobs to the lineup at each equipment piece, maximizing machine efficiency and maintaining customer delivery dates.
  • Manage Job Scheduling to ensure orders are set up in a timely fashion and far enough out to maximize same setup runs.
  • Work with Plant Manager and Operations Supervisor to maintain the flow of Multi-Process Job Work Orders through the plant until completion.
  • Review aged inventory reports and eliminate aged material when possible (Supply Chain Review IMR).
  • Create Production Sales Orders, Production Plans (Job Work Orders), and expedite material from outside processors, communicating with the Inventory Control Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
