About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining the production plan/schedule, performing line capacity analysis, generating daily production line schedules, and assessing plant capacities. This role is accountable for maintaining finished goods safety levels in alignment with customer forecast order demand. The Production Planner will interface daily with various departments including Materials Management, Master Planning, Purchasing (Raw and Dry Materials), Customer Service, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving, Transportation, and Quality to ensure departmental and company goals are met. These goals encompass order fill rates, on-time shipping departures, manufacturing efficiencies, safety, Dump and Donate initiatives, and other cost reduction efforts. The role also includes performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Scheduling coordination skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with emphasis on production planning and multiple production line scheduling
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities and ability to develop logical solutions to opportunities
  • Ability to maintain focus and direction in a fast-paced environment dealing with high raw and finished goods turns
  • Proven team player that utilizes coaching and company values to meet and exceed company expectations
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and MRP Skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be available days, nights, and weekends with Saturday being a regular workday
  • 2-4 years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a food related manufacturing environment with emphasis on production planning and line scheduling preferred
  • Experience in Process Improvement teams as a leader or a member
  • AS400 experience
  • Course work in scheduling, inventory, demand management, and closely related fields
  • APICS, CPIM, or related equivalent certification

  • Perform other duties as assigned
