About The Position

This role involves analyzing demand and capacity to create production plans, distributing schedules, and managing production shop orders. It requires reviewing MRP/MPS/Capacity processes to determine staffing and material needs, overseeing material reception and inventory, and revising schedules as needed. The position also involves vendor coordination for production and shipping, managing raw material procurement, and ensuring compliance with transportation, import/export, and customs regulations. Additionally, it includes evaluating work processes, reviewing production data for accuracy, and resolving customer/vendor complaints.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Operations, Transportation Management or Logistics preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain System, Logistics or Operations Management.
  • An analytical, problem-solving personality with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with vendors.
  • Extensive knowledge of Ocean Freight and Import/Export processes.
  • Experience with cross border operations from Mexico and Canada.
  • Strong U.S. Customs knowledge, including HTS classifications.
  • Strong data analytical skills using Power BI and Excel.
  • Experience and knowledge of domestic freight process.
  • Strong working knowledge of logistics and general Supply Chain processes.
  • Extensive experience with complex Supply Chain or Logistics projects is essential.
  • Attention to details and ability to ensure accurate work.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience interacting with/supporting customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze firm and forecast demand and orders against capacity to determine production plan needs for low and high seasons.
  • Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
  • Create and follow up on production shop orders.
  • Review MRP / MPS/ Capacity Processes to determine staffing needs, material requirements or material priorities, including material and components for Packaging.
  • Responsible for reception of material, allocations and tracing of heat lots.
  • Review labor tickets and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backorders, or machine maintenance, while working with other members of management, sales, production, or engineering.
  • Work directly with vendors, to coordinate production or shipping needs and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays on raw material needed for production.
  • Examine documents for material received for receptions of goods. Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Dual controls for inventory. (maintain WIP inventory)
  • Evaluate work processes to assess completeness and accuracy.
  • Review production data, including volume produced and consumption of raw materials to ensure all goods are being discounted properly in regard to BOM and routing.
  • Resolve issues regarding transportation, imports or exports, or customer issues and follow state and federal guidelines on proper customs documentation needed for each country of origin or country of consignee in coordination with Shipping and Receiving.
  • Locate and evaluate vendors for materials, if necessary.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for raw material, components (BOM).
  • Create POs for new orders, create new vendors in the system when required for buying purposes, and update pricing when needed. (Update contracts)
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolve customer-vendors’ complaints in coordination with other departments as needed.
