About The Position

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Materials Planner III and translate customer and project requirements into an executable, optimized packaging schedule. Partner with stakeholders across Packaging Operations, Client Services, Quality, Supply Chain, and Technical Operations, and work with the Operations Planner to support planning deployment, resource assignment, and material planning. Maintain visibility into near-term and mid-term packaging schedules, evaluate daily capacity and readiness, identify constraints, and collaborate with the Planning department to adjust schedules proactively and maximize operational output. Continuously assess available work, labor, equipment, packaging rooms, and project readiness to find ways to increase throughput, minimize downtime, and make effective use of capacity in a dynamic clinical packaging environment.

Requirements

Advanced degree plus 3 years of experience, or bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in supply chain/planning, materials management, or procurement in an operations or manufacturing environment; listed as preferred.
Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE, and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Experience with MRP/DRP concepts and inventory management principles.
Ability to develop and maintain material planning parameters, including safety stocks, lead times, and order quantities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Experience conducting supply planning meetings with key stakeholders.
Ability to analyze and report on key metrics such as inventory turns, service levels, and backorders.
Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and principles.
Ability to work independently and make decisions within defined parameters.
Project management experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without sponsorship.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.

Nice To Haves

APICS certification such as CPIM or CSCP.
Lean/Six Sigma certification.
Additional languages.
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP).
