About The Position

The Production Planner/Master Scheduler will support production activities to ensure maximum line up-time. This role involves resolving work order variances, determining and tracking root causes, and collaborating with Cost Accounting for month-end close. The planner will monitor and adjust planning parameters in SAP, fix work order errors, and review parameters for all finished good and WIP part numbers to ensure accurate planning and minimum inventory levels. Responsibilities also include following up on urgent lots, identifying potential supply risks and inventory exposures, and illuminating the impact on supply continuity for Finished Goods Inventory (FGI). The role requires applying planning concepts to solve problems, especially with supply constraints, performing capacity analysis for what-if scenarios and production growth, and maintaining department metrics. Collaboration with Purchasing and Engineering for ECO implementation and managing potential line shortages are key. The planner will also act as a liaison for new product integration and maintain communication with various departments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of SAP.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including understanding of vlookup, Pivot tables, macro recordings, data tables, charting, data sorting segregation, and formula auditing.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant Production Planning experience (Buyer experience alone is not sufficient).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GMPs and previous work experience in a medical manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience desired.
  • APICS certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agile PLM and ECO (Engineering Change Order) processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review parameters for all finished good and WIP part numbers, ensuring accurate part planning and minimum inventory levels.
  • Follow up on urgent lots to ensure they meet scheduled shipments.
  • Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with production plan milestones and targets.
  • Illuminate impact to supply continuity for Finished Goods Inventory (FGI).
  • Apply knowledge of planning concepts and principles to develop solutions to problems, particularly with supply constraints.
  • Perform capacity analysis to support what-if scenarios, forecast changes, and plan for production growth.
  • Maintain department metrics, analyze trends and results, and drive appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering to review proposed changes and establish Engineering Change Order (ECO) affectivity.
  • Execute ECO implementation requirements.
  • Determine and manage potential line shortages by analyzing build schedules, shortage reports, on-hand inventory reports, and supplier delivery information.
  • Develop communication relationships with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Shipping, and Customer Service to manage supply and demand.
  • Act as a liaison to integrate new products into existing manufacturing processes.
