About The Position

Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems. Its Supply Chain team manages the flow of materials, products, and components through the business and supports production, inventory, shipping and receiving, procurement, and materials compliance. Based onsite at Rocket Lab’s headquarters in Long Beach, California, the Production Planner II manages work orders and collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance. The role plans and manages production schedules, lead times, yields, and engineering build timelines, ensuring production teams have prioritized work ready to build without blockers.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience totaling at least 6 years.
Proven ability to conduct clear-to-build reviews and expedite materials through production.
Knowledge of production-planning fundamentals, including master data management, batch processing, and issue-ticket disposition.
Proficiency with MRP systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, mathematics, and statistics.

Nice To Haves

Experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industries.
Experience in a rapid-growth environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience with AS9100 and U.S. export controls.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.
Experience with SQL, Python, or R.

Responsibilities

Manage supply and fulfillment planning in MRP for Production work orders.
Release work orders to Production and kit requests to Inventory.
Provide visibility into material position through line-of-balance, material-shortage, and clear-to-build reports.
Support prioritization and expediting of subassemblies to meet integration timelines.
Ensure part master data in MRP is accurate for Production parts.
Understand material demand and configuration accuracy.
Work collaboratively across functional teams to achieve company-wide goals.
Perform other duties relevant to the role as requested by the manager.
