About The Position

The role of Production Planner II is to synchronize the flow of work and materials through production to achieve on time sales order fulfillment. Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand, inventory levels, and workflow efficiency. Ensure that the production schedule capacity is fully utilized to meet customer requirements and business objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ year's of progressive experience with scheduling and/ or planning in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed capacity and labor loading analyses, translating forecasted demand into executable production plans.
  • Collect, monitor and communicate KPI data and related analysis needed to implement opportunities to improve lead times, on-time delivery, and schedule attainment.
  • Ensure Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) is accurate and up to date.
  • Validate and release manufacturing orders based on material requirements planning (MRP).
  • Understand and highlight capacity constraints and work collaboratively with manufacturing and sales teams on resolution.
  • Evaluate new sales orders/changes and provide estimated ship date.
  • Provide sales team with order fulfillment status and updates regarding potential challenges to meeting agreed On Time Delivery dates.
  • Ensure production schedule integrity and issue order changes to accommodate revisions, cancellations, or changes in priority.
  • Expedite backorders from Production departments or Purchasing.
  • Analyze inventory levels and demand patterns to establish reorder points and safety stocks, balancing product availability and inventory costs.
  • Contribute to the achievement of inventory optimization goals.
  • Provide guidance to junior planners and production support staff
  • Prepare for and attend weekly production meetings.
  • Assist Production Coordinators, Stockroom, and Shipping with issues with production orders.
  • Ensure continuation of operation in absence of Supervisor.
  • Create non-standard/re-work discrete jobs when required.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and ATS policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
