About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Production Planner and Scheduler – Level 2/3 to join their team in the Space System business unit. This position will be 100% onsite at their facility located in Promontory, UT. The position can be filled with either level 2 or level 3. The role involves coordinating production schedules, ensuring material and planning availability for release, and advising management on operations status. The planner will also escalate problems such as material shortages and ensure necessary resources like labor, tools, and equipment are provided according to the program schedule. Coordination with internal departments and support functions is crucial for timely part movement and availability of support documents prior to production startup. The role also includes coordination of product movement across value streams, working with MRP Systems, capacity planning (level loading, Kanban), prioritizing, and utilizing various software systems like Costpoint, Sync Manufacturing, and MS Excel. Collaboration within a team environment, including Operations, Leadership, Production and Material Control, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, VSET Leads, or CAMS, is expected. The position is equipped to handle high-rate production demands and supports multiple programs and customers.

Requirements

  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling, 3+ years of experience with Master’s degree
  • In lieu of degree 6+ years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling.
  • Experience in MS Office Applications (exceptional use of Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge in an ERP system & familiar with the MRP process
  • Must be a US citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Costpoint and/or SAP experience
  • CPIM- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management
  • Supply Chain experience
  • Manufacturing/Production line experience
  • Active US government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates production schedules along with ensuring materials, and planning are available for release.
