About The Position

The Production Packaging Lead Associate role applies intensive and diversified knowledge of proper packaging of materials and finished products. This position will also load and move material and operate packaging equipment. The Production Packaging Associate III role will also be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices. In addition to Production Packaging Associate, I and II responsibilities, the Production Packaging Associate III role will include operating and understanding robot and completing changeovers (if applicable), assisting with quality control when needed, and potentially standing in for quality during DMR if the quality lead is unavailable. This role is designated as the Floater or lead packer on their shift, responsible for assisting all lines, mentoring new employees on safety and assignments, and coordinating breaks for employees across all lines. Duties may vary by plant. Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Requirements

  • Advanced mathematical skills are required.
  • Advanced computer experience.
  • Three plus years’ equivalent experience to include training/facilitating.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in PPA Skills: Skill Category: Level I: Safe Work Practices Fundamentals, Professional Standards Appropriate Behavior / Managing Self, Quality Inspect & Alert, Operate Pack (Most Common); Discard defects.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in PPA Skills: Skill Category: Level II: Safe Work Practices Fundamentals, Professional Standards Appropriate Behavior / Managing Self, Quality Confirm inspections being performed. Support Quality department activities as needed. Operate Pack (All lines); Tag product; Operate All other packing machinery. Print tags; Sync counts; confirm truck loads.
  • Completion and demonstrated proficiency in PPA Skills Lead training: Skill Category: Lead Level: Safe work practices Engage in Site-Wide safety activities. Professional standards Interpersonal skills / teamwork. Communicating with other departments. Quality Operate Break and meal relief Train & Coach Train new associates.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Associate Lead training.
  • Certified facilitator.

Responsibilities

  • Relieve the bagger and the palletizer operator.
  • Operate and understand robot and complete changeovers (if applicable).
  • Help with quality when there are needs from the quality department.
  • Stand in for quality during the DMR if the quality lead is not available.
  • Demonstrate Co-Ownership in Plant Safety, Quality and Morale results by actively participating in Safety Committees, Pre-Shift Safety Meetings, FPY Improvement Teams, etc.
  • Act as the Floater or lead packer on their shift, able to help with all lines and mentor new employees on safety and temp utility packers on assignments, safety, and quality.
  • Assist and coordinate lunch breaks and breaks for employees in all lines.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Load and move material and operate packaging equipment.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
