Entry Level Production
About The Position
Alcoa is hiring Production Operators for its Massena facility in New York. Most new operators begin in the Smelter Potroom, though other production placements may be available. Duties vary by work area and may involve using heavy equipment to manufacture and ship products, operating machinery such as forklifts and cranes, and completing specialized tasks while maintaining quality and following safety guidelines. This application is for an employment pool. Applicants accepted into the pool will remain on file for 12 months. The standard rate is $26.87 USD per hour; employees may also be eligible for variable performance pay, overtime, premium pay, and additional payments under the collective bargaining agreement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; an updated resume and diploma or GED must be uploaded with the application.
- Be able to perform physically demanding work under high-temperature conditions.
- Successfully pass a skills aptitude test, physical test, drug test, and background check.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be willing and able to work rotating shifts and continuous schedules.
- Be willing to work mandatory overtime when required.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.
